Should KCPD hire 40 more officers?
Mayor Mark Funkhouser is urging the police to hire more officers, which is one idea that he's promoting as a way to fight violent crime. (Christine Vendel has more about the mayor's plan here.) He suggests that 40 more officers are needed, at least to start. KCPD says that it will do a staffing study to see if there's a need.
